Finding a dentist you trust is hard enough. Finding one who can see every member of your family, from toddlers to grandparents, under one roof is even harder. At Elite Dental Smiles, that is exactly what we offer at both our Dandridge and Jefferson City locations in Jefferson County.
Whether you are bringing in a three-year-old for their first exam, scheduling a teenager's wisdom tooth consultation, or looking for implants and cosmetic work as an adult, you do not need to find separate specialists for each stage of life. We handle all of it.
Why Families in Jefferson County Choose Elite Dental Smiles
We are a locally owned practice run by Dr. George F. Johnson III, DMD. Dr. Johnson grew up in the region and built this practice with East Tennessee families in mind. He holds certifications in implant surgery through Nobel Biocare and offers sedation options including nitrous oxide, oral sedation, and IV sedation for patients who feel nervous at the dentist.
Having one dental home for your whole family has practical advantages. Your dentist builds a relationship with every person on your chart. We notice patterns across family members, catch things early, and make treatment recommendations based on what we actually know about your history. It also simplifies scheduling: many families coordinate same-day back-to-back appointments so everyone can be seen in a single trip.
Dental Care for Children in Dandridge, TN
We recommend bringing children in for their first dental visit around their first birthday, or within six months of their first tooth coming in. Early visits are low-key. We do a quick exam, check development, clean what is there, and spend time making sure your child feels comfortable in the chair. That comfort pays off for years.
As kids grow, we focus on prevention first. Regular cleanings, fluoride treatments, and dental sealants protect young teeth during the cavity-prone years. We also monitor jaw and bite development and flag anything that might benefit from early orthodontic evaluation.
For children who are anxious or resistant to dental visits, nitrous oxide is safe, effective, and appropriate for most pediatric patients. It takes the edge off without putting anyone to sleep, and it wears off within minutes. Many kids who arrive nervous leave saying it was not a big deal at all.
Dental Care for Teens
Teenagers tend to fall off on dental care right when it matters most. Orthodontic changes, increased sugar intake, and lax brushing habits during busy school years create conditions where cavities and gum problems develop quickly.
We see a lot of teens at Elite Dental Smiles and we keep it straightforward with them. No lectures. Just honest information about what is happening in their mouth and what they can do about it. We also offer clear aligner options for teens interested in straightening their teeth without traditional braces.
Wisdom tooth monitoring typically begins in the mid-teen years. We take periodic X-rays to track how wisdom teeth are developing and advise on the right timing for removal when it becomes necessary.
Dental Care for Adults and Seniors
Adult dental needs change over time. The core of what we do for most adult patients is preventive care: twice-yearly cleanings, exams, and X-rays to catch problems before they become expensive. When restorative work is needed, we handle it in-house as much as possible so patients do not have to be referred elsewhere.

Two Locations in Jefferson County
Dandridge Office
Our Dandridge location is a fee-for-service practice. We do not participate with dental insurance plans, which means we have complete freedom to recommend only what is genuinely in your best interest. No insurance-driven limitations on materials, timing, or treatment options. Patients pay directly and we spend our time on clinical decisions, not paperwork. Many patients find the overall experience and quality of care worth the tradeoff.
Jefferson City Office
Our Jefferson City location accepts most major dental insurance plans, making it a practical fit for families who want to maximize their benefits. You get the same clinical team and same standard of care as Dandridge, with the added convenience of insurance billing.
What to Expect at Your First Visit
New patient appointments at Elite Dental Smiles include a full exam, a complete set of X-rays, and a cleaning unless the clinical exam reveals something that needs to be addressed first. We also do an oral cancer screening at every comprehensive exam.
At the end of the visit, you will have a clear picture of what is going on in your mouth, what (if anything) needs treatment, and what the timeline and cost look like. We do not rush through this conversation. If you have questions, ask them. If you want a second opinion on a treatment recommendation, we support that too.
For families scheduling multiple people in the same visit, let us know when you call. We will do our best to block consecutive time slots so everyone can be seen back to back.
Scheduling Is Simple
Call (865) 397-5422 to schedule at either location. We are accepting new patients at both offices and are happy to help you figure out which location is the better fit for your insurance situation and geographic preference.
If you have children who are nervous about dental visits, mention that when you call. We can walk you through how we handle first visits with anxious kids and what sedation options might apply to your situation before you ever come through the door.
