The implant placement is done under local anesthesia — most patients say it's much more comfortable than they expected. IV sedation is also available if you want to sleep through the procedure entirely. Post-surgery soreness is typically manageable with over-the-counter pain relief for a few days.
With proper care, dental implants can last 25–30+ years — often a lifetime. The crown on top may need replacement after 15–20 years of normal use, but the implant post itself is designed to be permanent. Nobel Biocare implants (what we use) have a 98% 10-year success rate in clinical studies.
Some dental insurance plans cover a portion of implants — typically the crown component. Many plans, however, still classify the implant post as a non-covered cosmetic expense. We'll work with your insurance and provide a detailed estimate up front. Our Membership Club and CareCredit financing are excellent options if you're uninsured or underinsured.
Typically 3–4 appointments over the course of 3–6 months: a consultation, the implant placement surgery, a check-up during healing, and the final crown placement. Patients doing multiple implants under sedation may complete more steps in fewer visits.
