Severe Toothache
Throbbing, constant tooth pain that won't let you sleep or eat is a signal your tooth needs attention now. Don't wait it out.
Dental emergencies don't wait — neither do we. We keep same-day slots in our schedule every single day for emergency patients. Call us first, before urgent care. We handle toothaches, broken teeth, knocked-out teeth, abscesses, and more.
If you're in pain, bleeding, or something just feels very wrong — call us. When in doubt, we'd rather you call and find out it can wait than wait and have it get worse.

A tooth that snapped from biting or trauma needs evaluation immediately. Sharp edges can cut soft tissue and the tooth may be salvageable if treated quickly.
A knocked-out permanent tooth can often be re-implanted if you act fast. Keep it moist, call us immediately, and get in within 30–60 minutes if possible.
Swelling in your jaw or gums, fever, or a pimple-like bump on your gums indicates an abscess — a serious infection that can spread if untreated. This is urgent.
A lost crown or filling exposes vulnerable tooth structure. While not always painful at first, the exposed area can become sensitive quickly and needs attention soon.
Cuts or lacerations to the tongue, cheeks, or gums from trauma may need professional evaluation, especially if bleeding doesn't slow down after 10–15 minutes of pressure.
Call (865) 397-5422 or (865) 475-8331 right away. We keep same-day slots open for emergencies. Describe what happened so we can give you specific guidance and prepare for your arrival.
Over-the-counter ibuprofen or acetaminophen can help with pain. A cold pack on the outside of your cheek (20 min on, 20 min off) helps with swelling. Don't apply aspirin directly to the tooth or gums.
Find the tooth, handle it by the crown (not the root), and rinse gently if dirty. Place it back in the socket if possible. If not, keep it moist — in milk, saline, or tucked in your cheek. Time is critical: get to us within 30–60 minutes.
Apply gentle, steady pressure with clean gauze or a damp tea bag. Most soft tissue bleeding slows within 10–15 minutes. If bleeding is heavy or doesn't stop, head to an urgent care or ER while calling us.
We don't turn emergency patients away to urgent care. We keep time in our daily schedule specifically for same-day emergencies — because when your tooth hurts, you deserve to see a dentist, not a waiting room.
We hold same-day slots in our schedule every day for emergency patients. Call in the morning and we'll do our best to see you that day.
If your emergency requires extensive work, sedation dentistry is available. You don't have to white-knuckle through an extraction or root canal.
We'll tell you exactly what needs to be done and what it will cost before we start. No surprises, no pressure. CareCredit financing is available.
From emergency extractions to root canals to re-cementing crowns, we handle the full range of emergency dental needs in-house. You won't be referred somewhere else for basic emergency care.
"I called at 8am with a cracked tooth and severe pain. They got me in by 10am, I was completely comfortable, and I left pain-free. I wish I'd found them years ago."
